I recently ran into an old friend that provided my favorite compliment:
"I saw your latest canoe displayed in a local coffee hang.
The canoe reminded me of a classic old car in mint condition
that you don't want to drive, but just admire and pet!"

           Thanks Allen

"My father was sure about certain matters pertaining to the universe.
To him all good things, trout as well as eternal salvation come by grace

The Canoe

"The Canoe is the most simplest, most functional, yet esthetically pleasing object ever created.
In my opinion, this is not a statement that is open to debate. It's a fact!
It follows that if the canoe is the most beautiful work of human beings,
then the art of paddling one must be right up there along with painting, poetry, music and ballet.
In the ever-varying condition of wind, waves and rapids, the possibilities for acquiring
skill and control of the canoe with poetry and grace are unlimited.
I've been paddling canoes for over 40 years and rarely return from a journey by canoe without having
discovered something new.
No one will ever know all there is to know about the art of canoeing."
